The NEMA Size 2 motor starter features a solid-state current sensing unit that provides overload protection, phase-loss protection and Class II ground-fault protection. The solid state coil controller prevents a "contact-kiss" position on pickup and dropout when the coil voltage supply drops drastically. The combination of the coil controller and the solid state current-sensing unit results in an energy efficient motor starter.The overload trip current is selected by means of DIP switches located on the motor starter. Reset can be manual or automatic. Although there is a reset button on the starter, it will not be necessary to use this button in the Duplex Lift Station Control Panel because there is a reset button on the control panel deadfront.

DIP switch #8 selects the type of reset. Position 0 (recommended) is manual reset. Position 1 is automatic. Reset occurs automatically after a cooling off period.

The Overload Class is selected by DIP switches 7 and 6.

Overload Settings The tables at right give the overload DIP switch settings according the the nameplate FLA (full load amperage) of the motor. The tables take into account that the motor has a service factor of 1.15 to 1.25. For motors having a service factor of 1.0, contact TEI Controls for setting information.
